Kristine Kappeler Howanski

Kristine is the founding partner of the firm, which dates back to 1999 when she first formed her own family law boutique. Prior to that time, Kristine worked as a partner at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, where she first made her way through the ranks of associate and senior associate. Notably, she was the first person to make partner at Semmes while working part-time to take care of her two sons. Currently, Kristine’s practice is dedicated to family law matters.

Kristine is local to the area and graduated from Dulaney High School (1976). She then received her BA in Government from the University of Virginia (1980, with High Distinction, Phi Beta Kappa), where she lettered in Swimming. Kristine earned her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law (1983), where she served on Law Review and received the Order of the Coif. During law school, Kristine completed an Asper fellowship with the Honorable Norman P. Ramsey.

Kristine enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, and extended family and friends. She also keeps herself busy by serving at church, trying out restaurants, attending shows and watching and participating in various athletic endeavors. Aside from supporting the Ravens, Orioles and Cavaliers, she enjoys playing golf, swimming, cycling, running, working out at the gym, and walking on the beach.
